Peace Lutheran Church in Salem is pleased to announce that Rev. Dr. Frederick Niedner, Jr.*, Senior Research Professor of Theology at Valparaiso University, will be the speaker for this year’s 2nd annual Jaech Symposium, April 24-26. He will be speaking to the theme: “Rising Above Hate – Biblical Insights for Today” during two separate presentations:

Friday. April 24, 7:00 – 9:00 pm

Saturday April 25, 9:00 AM – Noon

Dr. Niedner will also preach the 9:15 am Sunday morning service April 26, and offer a concluding presentation and discussion after worship during the 10:45 am Education Hour.

There is no registration fee but a free will offering will be received Friday evening and Saturday morning.

*Dr. Niedner is the son of Fred Niedner, Sr, Nebraska District President for 22 years and Exec. Pastor at St. John, Salem, from 1978-85.

The annual spring symposium at Peace was established in memory and thanksgiving for the life and faithful witness of The Rev. Dr. Emil Jaech and his wife Myrtle who were members of the congregation for many years after retirement. Dr. Jaech was ordained in 1938, served congregations Spokane and Seattle, and as LC-MS Northwest District President 1970-1982.  He and Fred Niedner Sr. served together on the LC-MS Council of Presidents
